Bad: How to disable gconfd in firefox

I use Firefox 16 for my automation and it uses gconfd internally.
Is there a way to disable firefox from using gconfd. It writes a lot of data into saved_state which is leading to crashing total usage of CPU.

I have found –disable-gconf
but not sure how to compile firefox with that command

Is there a way to disable log messages from gconf?

The current version of Firefox is 35.0

I do agree that current firefox version is 35 and it is applicable to all firefox versions.

It is observed that for all firefox actions done during testing are written to gconfd/saved_state. Moreover to do so, gnome is taking most of CPU's usage not giving time to other scripts. It is observed that gnome is utilizing most of CPU's time even after gui scripts.

So is there a way to prevent firefox from using gconfd or at least reduce the excessive writing to gconfd/saved_state?
