Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

I downloaded backtrack 5 r3 and i install it on my usb and now i m trying to instal it on my pc with dual booting and any time i have a error with startx ,i type startx and it tells me something about screen and X server...can some one help me plz?and sorry for my bad english
Unfortunately, we can't guess what this something means. Unless you post the exact error messages, there's very little we can do to help you.
On a slightly unrelated note, not that there's anything wrong with Backtrack, but why don't you install any of the standard desktop distributions that are more tailored at new Linux users?
nothing ,again the same error...fatal server error no screen found
no souch file found (errno2) unable to connect to x server
no souch process found (errno3)server error..
help?
