Backing up kMail emails+config files ?

I am going to format my HD and I needed to back all my KMail emails + config files (pop3 settings...etc) as well as my address book.
I know that the emails are saved in the home/Mail directory but is it enough just to copy it. Or do I have to like export it into certain format? I am going to use it after that (after formatting) with KMail as well.
I have searched for KMail config files and found a config file in .kde/share. But there are several ones? which one exactly do I need? or do I need all of them?

Any help is highly appreciated,
thanx.

you can simply copy the Mail directory to a backup and restore it afterwards. I'm not sure which config files you need but the easiest way to store all the kde settings (since you're formatting the hd drive) is to backup the whole ~/.kde directory.
