OK check this out....
I was in XWindows upon boot-up mode, an' while I was logged in as root, I went to Drake Config and selected the option: DO NOT BOOT X WINDOWS DURING START-UP (or something 2 that effect) How do I turn X-windows upon boot-up back on????? I have X-windows back on, but I did it by re-booting Drax-install and Using expert user to reconfig the Monitor Settings. I know there is an easier way than this. Thanx. |
Look for the file /etc/inittab. In this file you should have a line that looks like

X is the windowing system for Linux (the GUI). It is what interfaces with programs like KDE, Gnome, and Window Maker (otherwise known as window managers/desktop environments).
