-b Allow pinging a broadcast address.


HI,
I AM USING MANDRAKE 10.0
i need to the linux clients IP ADDRESS that are working now..
so i use this command but can not understant any more input....



[root@Simlab-node3 staff]# ping -b
Usage: ping [-LRUbdfnqrvVaA] [-c count] [-i interval] [-w deadline]
[-p pattern] [-s packetsize] [-t ttl] [-I interface or address]
[-M mtu discovery hint] [-S sndbuf]
[ -T timestamp option ] [ -Q tos ] [hop1 ...] destination
[root@Simlab-node3 staff]#

help me

Hi,

You need to enter the appropriate broadcast address. Depending on the ping you are using (mine does not support -b) do something like this:

$ ping -b 192.168.1.255

or ( without -b present):

$ ping 192.168.1.255

working fine but i need the IP address of the host that are connected by
LAN.
i need to list the IP address of remore host also...
