.Avi Files {videos}


I try to run a .avi file on Moonshine and it tells me i need to install

MPEG-1 Layer 3 (MP3) decoder
XVID MPEG-4 decoder

How do I do that :P would it be in the bin thingie? [Total noobsauce here.]

Read the part on third party repositories (and the rest as well if you're a newbie), then install mplayer, mplayer-skins, mplayer-fonts and mplayerplug-in. And win32codecs. You can install vlc as well.

Well... I installed all that w/ yum. but how do i run it, i try to run it with totem movie player and it doesnt work. still says the same thing..

Did you install totem-gstreamer? totem-xine? Xine used to be more versatile but it's the gstreamer version that works best nowadays. Btw, don't forget to install the gstreamer-plug-ins (gstreamer-10-ugly, bad, ffmpeg, etc.).
