automount floppy, suse 9.0
Does anyone know a nice easy way to get floppies to automount on suse 9.0 so complete newbies can get by? I am building a box for a friend who is not pc savvy and is used to MS, I don't want to have to teach them mount /dev/fd0 etc as frankly they will run a mile and it would be nice to be able to have a box that needs absolutely no intro to Linux.

I guess you have KDE or GNOME or something similar?
Normally you have the drives on your desktop. There you should be able to click, and it will automount. HTH |
test the panel applet called "devices" - see if this will serve your purposes

vi /etc/fstab
find a line similar to this: /dev/fd0 /floppy auto user,noauto 0 0 change "noauto" to "auto" ;) |
