Automation software installation

Hi all

I am in process of automating a particuler software development environment on Linux (Cent os). The automation script is supposed not to have any user interaction after it is started. But still I have two problems I have no clue about them

1)How to switch between the super user and the normal user using the script. Because for the super user, there is a password prompt
2)How do the script provide a response when prompted to typical yes/no questions (ex:do you want to install it or not ? Then the script should say yes ). Can I read it from a file and give it ?

I would be very thankful f somebody can give some help.

I had to do something similar a while back and used Expect.

I was running on Ubuntu 8.04 at the time.

Just google Expect script or Expect automation.

Good luck.

On one of the questions, you could check the man page for the package manager. I would be surprised if it didn't have an option to auto-answer yes to the questions of "do you really want to install this?"
