Automated dial up (56k) once a day - How?

Looking to build my mom a Linux photo frame. Of course, there's tons of stuff out there for frames that will connect to a network wirelessly, etc.

But she lives alone and has no interest in the Internet otherwise, so I need to set up the photo frame like my Tivo to dial in once a day and get photos (no my Tivo's not on our home network yet... still need to run cables). Was thinking of using NetZero's free dialup for this.

So I've looked around for info and am not finding any. What should I look into for automated dial up?

Many thanks...

Run a script as a cron-job to dial in with wvdial or kppp. wget will let her gram the photos to a directory, then update the slideshow software if it needs it. Then hang up.

Details depend on specifics.
