auto-starting nautilus when connecting a card reader (debian, gnome)

Hi all,

Currently when I connect a card reader (with a card inside, of course) gnome auto-starts gphoto. However I don't use gphoto and I would like gnome to auto-start nautilus instead. Can someone please advice how to do this?.

Thanks,
Mike.

I can't verify this since mine isn't working but it seems to be the most obvious answer. Set the preference for Nautilus/Media for Photos to Open with other application. Choose file browser and if running default Gnome, then Nautilus should perform the action.

Thanks. how do you set the "Nautilus/Media for Photos to Open" option?.

Open Nautilus and choose Edit, then Preferences. There should be a tab for Media. Then choose the drop down box next to Photos and select File Browser. It might be down the list a ways but should be there. Mine recognizes the card when in the slot but does not mount. It is fine in the camera so I think it is how Kodak formats it.
