Authentication Error when trying to smbmount a Windows Share
I'm having an authentication problem mounting a Windows share using smbmount.
I have a Windows 2003 server setup in a Windows 2003 Active Directory Forest. I have created a share on this box that I want to connect to using my Linux server. The Windows server only has one local account on it that I can use to connect with; the renamed Administrator account. I am trying to use smbmount and specify the renamed Adminstrator account for the username and that share, however it fails authenticaton, and when I look at the security logs on the Windows server, I see where root tried to authenticate and failed (since there is no account called "root" on the Windows server).
Here is my synatx:
smbmount "//<server>/<share>" /mnt/winfs username=<administrator account>
I keep getting the access denied.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? How can I mount the Windows share over the network using an account that I specify?
Thanks
Nevermind, I figured it out. I did more reading on smbmount and apparently I didn't notice the first time that I have to use a "-o" when I want to specify options. Everything works fine now.
