Unhappy Aumix problem

Hey all: I'm having a problem with my sound in RH8. When booting, I get an aumix error and when I try to change the mixer settings I get the same error. My soundcard is an Intel i810.. maybe that's the problem? Can someone talk me through this please?

what is your soundcard?

you can see if its being recognized by doing "lspci" as root.

I did lspci like you said and it popped out
Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corp. 82801DB AC'97 Audio (rev 01).

so the card is recognised, it just doesnt work with rh.

thoughts?
