I'm pretty new to Linux (using Ubuntu 9.04) so bear with me
I have everything working the way I want it except for a few things with my audio. For one, its real quiet. For it to be audible I need to have it on about full volume. It doesn't slowly progress into something louder but seems to jump from quiet to loud. I have two headphone jacks in the front but only one of them outputs sound as well. When I was using a Windows OS, the outputted sound through the headphone jack into my receiver was also much louder on the same volume setting on the receiver. I've read that there are some known issues with Dell laptops and getting the right audio drivers but everything I read confuses me a bit more. My audio card is:
82801H Audio Controller from Intel
I just installed 9.04 too so everything seems to be updated but its not the newest Kernal I believe nor is it grub2 (if that has any relevance I have no idea :-p)
ut if anyones gone through this and can share some insight that'd be awesome
Thanks!
