Audio Video Is Out of Sync

All my updated linux mint installations can no longer record from my web cam and play back an in sync recording. I have tried kamoso, cheese, and guvcview and all are out of sync. Is there a solution I would be able to implement as a newbie?

Thanks in advance.

This seems to work in GUVCViewer but not in the others:

Save the file with Video Codex MJPG compressed and Video Format AVI (others may work but I haven't tried them).
Open the file with Avidemux.
On the left under Audio click on Shift so it is ticked and select the number of microseconds you want the audio shifted (can be negative).
Test by clicking the play icon (the green one at bottom left).
When happy, save the file.
