Audio problem in ubutnu 12.04


Hii folks i am new user to this site and new user of linux too, I am using ubuntu 12.04 i got audio problem unable to solve that problem by following the instructions of ubuntu.com to resolve those. Could you please post here if any solution is there..(or) is it better to use another linux flavor?

Hi ciitaram,
Welcome to Linux Questions.
There is going to be a lot of assumption here because you have not posted exctly what happened.
First of all do the speakers work. Have you checked that.
Well as far as the audio is concerned I think you do not have audio at all in the output. Did you try 'alsamixer' and _unmuting_ everything and then playing a good file. Ubuntu is a live dvd so boot in with Ubuntu again and see if you get the audio.

Tqqq i tried a lot installed UBUNTU again and again many times and checked all speakers, uninstalled alsamix n again installed alsamix but ntng helpful 2me, annoying with this problem, Is there any solution???

First things have you checked the speakers? Check the speakers on a different computer - else use differnet speakers - if you do not have speakers then use someone elses nokia phones speakers or headsets whatever you can lay yur hands on.
Log in as root (or you can use sudo) and run 'alsaconf'. Ideally you should get the sound cads detected here. You may then run 'modprobe' and see for yourself if there is anything that says snd or alsa* - in either case your card has been detected.
