Question Audio & PPP?

Ok, well this seems to be the place to ask this question. :P So how do I set up my sound? I installed the driver of the "misc" line in whatever program that was. I'm using a BP810 mobo with the AC 97" codec audio. I installed both AC97_codec, and i810_audio. So where do I go from there? I check the sndstat file, and there wasn't a configuration at all.

Also, I set up my PPP, I think. I put the right #, username, pass, so forth so on. Now how do I connect? I used pon, but I get a message saying: In file /etc/ppp/peers/provider: unrecognized option '/dev/modem'.

I'm more worried about the audio, but help with the PPP conection would be nice. I think I have the right drivers installed, I just need to know where to even start to get my sound.
