ATI Radeon installation help.
Hi there, i`m new to these forums (and linux for that matter)
And i would like a step by step guide to installing the ATI drivers on mandrake 10. This is my first plunge into any linux distro so i only know a few very basic console commands, my mandrake linux shipped with 2.6.8.1-10mdk kernel if that helps at all.... Thanks in advance. |
One very detailed procedure for installing ATI Tadeon drivers is stfedorafaq .
I know, it's not a Mandrake website but Mandrake10 and Fedora core2 are equivalents: they both use RPM package , use the 2.6 kernel and xorg so all they say should apply to Mandrake. |
I,ll give that a try, thanks... also thanks for the rapid response.

I think I gave a wrong link ( a typo ), try
this one instead Go to the following section: How do I enable 3D support for my ATI Radeon card in Fedora Core 2? In step 5, you should replace the rpm installation command with: rpm -ivh --force fglrx-4.3.0-*.i386.rpm ( That's what the ATI installation readme says ) |
here is how i installed mine , but i had mandrake 10 not 10.1
