I am looking for assistance from an experienced user with patience.
I have switched over to Fedora 7 and am running Gnome, but after many, many efforts to get my ATI card to be recognized and configured and many re-installs due to a black screen and backtracks to orig configs, I have given up and resorted to here.
Please do not reference links to other pages because I have probably already been there. I am still learning but I am sure there could be some leftover errors. I just am looking for someone to go step by step and to be patient. I would greatly appreciate it.

I don't think I am able to help, but to help other people understand your problem better, please post:

1. which radeon chip set?

2. what you have done to try to get the card recognized/working?

3. have you ever booted to GNOME successfully? does the black screen appear after you change the configuration?
