Hi there Welcome to Linux.
OK, firstly, I'm no expert either, but have a few suggestions to get you started..
According to the log file you posted above, it seems that a) there is a module missing or some similar problem, and b) there may be something miconfigured in your xorg.conf file. If you are using only ONE video card to power the dual screens (like your card is a dual-head card), again I think something may be wrong in the config file. I see references to PCI slot 1:0:0 and also 1:0:1, which implies two separate cards.
If you could post the contents of your config file, located at /etc/X11/xorg.conf and also, from a terminal window on your system, type the command lspci, and copy the results of that and also post that here, it would help out some for sure.
I use nVidia, so while I cannot give you EXACT advice for the ATI card from experience, I will try to help you with any obvious problems in your config file.
As for being able to drag the mouse or windows and stuff across the two screens, I use the 'Xinerama' option to do that with my card. I have a television connected to the second output of my card.
There are several ways to configure dual screens; You should (if you haven't yet) use Google, and/or check for README files which either came with your ATI driver, or are available where you got the driver.. Use Google and search for stuff like "ATI dual screens" or "ATI <card name> direct rendering".
Meanwhile, if you could copy and post that stuff, that would get us started.
PS- Please edit your profile and add the Linux Distribution you are using; that will help others help you, particularly when the question may be distribution specific.

OK, and also, don't forget to post the xorg.conf file too; that's the more important part.
It's at /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Here is the xorg.conf file

Code:
# /etc/X11/xorg.conf (xorg X Window System server configuration file)
#
# This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using
# values from the debconf database.
#
# Edit this file with caution, and see the /etc/X11/xorg.conf manual page.
# (Type "man /etc/X11/xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.)
#
# This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only*
# if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg
# package.
#
# If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated
# again, run the following command:
# sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

OK.. I have renovated your config file somewhat. I recomend that if you choose to swap this file in, you backup your original file first.
Also, I again am not an expert, and use nVidia, not ATI, so this may work no better, or not at all, that your original file.
What I did:
Your auto-configger basically added sections to the original file, however it did NOT remove the sections it was updating, so there were a bunch of duplicate things in there, as well, as an unlabelled screen, and 3 monitors, and 3 video devices, all of which was probably confuring the X server.
Also, I have cleaned up the file by removing comments and excessive tabs and spaces, because the X server also will not work properly sometimes if there is a lot of extra whitespace in the file.
Try this out, and so that you learn from this (assuming this works at all or even helps a bit) compare the differences between the two files.
Also, I added the option "AllowGLXWithComposite" to the devices, because you have the composite option enabled. You may not even need these options, or even need the Composite option at all.
After trying this out, or after making whatever changes you feel are necessary to your original file, try starting the X server. If it works, great. See how well it works.
If it does not work, check the log and let us know what it says, or try correcting the issue based on what the log says.
Good luck, Hope this helps out some!

OH - ANd there ought to be HorizSync and VertRefresh lines in each of the Monitor sections!
OOPS ..
Check the manual for your monitor(s) and read the manual page (man xorg.conf) and insert the horizontal and vertical refreshes for the monitors, something like:

HorizSync 31.5 - 75.0
VertRefresh 60

These are just examples, but that's the basic format.

I copied used you're config file and it works just fine and it actually fixed one of the problems. The part where on the second screen my mouse was a 1inch block. That is now gone. I still cannot run Beryl though, and I still cannot drag the windows across. I think I saw something in the man for xorg.conf about that option you had mentioned earlier. lemme check it out

Which option was it that I mentioned? The Xinerama? If so, Basically it goes in a section called 'serverflags' as I recall.. Like the following:
Section "ServerFlags"
Option "Xinerama" "1"
EndSection

Something like this **should** allow you to scroll the mouse from one screen to the other.
As for Beryl, I haven't used it, and know nothing about it, but if you think I might be able to help more, feel free to ask!
Glad you're making some progress.

ok, I added the Xinerama option and appears to have done nothing, I did Option "Xinerama" "Enable" towards the bottom of the file, where I saw there was the option for the composite

It has to be in the Serverflags section, like in my last post.
Another thing you can try, in the top server config section is the following:
Where it says:
Code:
	Identifier "Default Layout"
	Screen 0	"Screen0" 0 0
	Screen 1	"Screen1" RightOf "Screen0"
You can try the following (it worked for me):
Let's say you are using 1280x1024, you would do this:
Code:
Identifier "Default Layout"
	Screen 0	"Screen0" 0 0
	Screen 1	"Screen1" 1280 0
This will do the same thing, just a different way, by putting the right-hand screen at the x position where the left-hand screen ends.

OK, well hmmm... Back to the 'RightOf' method. Not sure what to tell you from here. You'll hafta read up on the ATI end of things, maybe search LQ for other ATI related threads, Google for some README's, etc..
Took me a few days to get my nVidia card set up right. You'll get it don't give up!
