Ati and Kernel source problems.
Hello
Tried to update my old Ati 8.16.6 driver with the new version 8.21.7 I have completely removed the old one. When i try to install the new one i get an error. My fglrx-install.log looks like this: Message] Kernel Module : Trying to install a precompiled kernel module. [Message] Kernel Module : Precompiled kernel module version mismatched. [Error] Kernel Module : No kernel module build environment - please consult readme. But what does it really mean? When i do the uname -r i get 2.6.12-9-386 What should i do? Got no kernel source in adept to install. Only some linux image things... System is athlon64 3000+ 9800Pro Kubuntu 5.10 32bit Then a second question. I hate i have do write "cd .." to change directory. Is there somehow i can change it so i only have to write "cd.." ? |
you need to download the kernel headers. It should be in your mandriva sources.
as for cd .. google for linux alias |
