I get this error message in dmesg.
I have only 1 hdd & cd/dvd drive.
ata1:00 hdd
ata1:01 cd/dvd also listed as sr0
Is this telling me that cd/dvd drive is failing or is the machine just renaming the drive?

Those certainly look like drive hardware failure errors to me. Have you run any kind of diagnostic on the drive?

I used disk utility to check the hard drive, but there is no option to check cdrom which is on ata1:01 or sr0
Also it's the same if I switch hard drives

1 more thing when I had cairo dock the drive would mount & unmount with no media in it.
