at command scheduler not working with GUI apps

Sometimes, I use xmessage or kdialog to remind me of things. I use a syntax like so to remind me in 15 minutes:
sleep 15m ; xmessage "Call Bob at xxx-xxx" -nearmouse

sleep 15m ; kdialog --msgbox "Call Bob at xxx-xxx"
However, when I use the at command job scheduler, and I enter the command kdialog --msgbox "Call Bob at xxx-xxx" to be executed at the specific time, it doesn't display the message when the time is up.

I do have permission to use the at command as a regular user because I've done many things in the past with at as a regular user.

Any ideas?...or is the at job scheduler not capable of executing GUI applications.

Just figure it out how to get the at job scheduler to execute GUI applications by experimenting. All I needed to to was add the -display :0 option to xmessage and/or kdialog
