Asus P5S-MX SE Motherboard, nVIDIA Palit 7300 and onboard devices help needed !
Hi,
I am facing the following issues while installing Mandriva Linux:
a) Does not recognize onboard LAN Card.
b) Does not recognize nVIDIA PALIT 7300 GS 512 Card.
c) The other distros do not even install since i use a SATA Disk. (it is possible that i am using an older version of Distro).
The Hardware that i have is as follows:
a) Motherboard: Asus P5S - MX SE
b) On Board LAN : Sis 191
c) Hitachi SATA 140 GB HDD
d) Samsung DVD Writer IDE
e) Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 Ghz with 2 GB RAM.
Please help in getting the system up and running. I would love to experiment with Beryl. Seems like a fascinating Interface.
Rgds

Hi acidetch, Welcome to lq. This should help with the video card.
http://wiki.linuxquestions.org/wiki/...ake.2FMandriva
For your nic we'll need to see what card you have. Please issue the following commands and post the output here.
Code:
/sbin/lspci -v | grep Ethernet
/sbin/lsmod
Good luck. ;-)
