asus notebook purchase ?

I have a desktop with windows vista and a palm treo. Will I be able to transfer documents, etc. using an asus with a lynex system. Do I have to install windows onto the asus, and is it possible to do. Also, how will adding or replacing windows affect the asus notebook ?

Hey I am only new to this but from what I've seen the asus netbooks (im guessing thats what you mean) come with both linux and windows systems and if you are wanting to keep it simple getting an asus netbook with windows xp would be your best bet, or you could set up an asus netbook running linux with a few programs to keep things in check but this would be alot more ongoing work and needs a bit of knowledge. The final option and the option I choose is to ditch the revoltingly vulgar vista for linux and I am now in the process of building a mean netbook (using a msi wind u100), trying to source a good battery though for that thirsty 2ghz overclocked atom n270.

Welcome to LQ!!

File transfer between Windows and Linux is easily done by several methods. You would not need to install Windows on the Asus.

Please tell us more about what kinds of documents you deal with and how you want to use the Asus notebook?
