Assigning modem port

I have a small ITX running on 12 volts for mobile. It has Debian 7 / Linux running IRLP. Using the rj45 port, all works fine connected direct to sat modem, except for the large latency. I am trying to get it to run on a Huawei E3276 lte Internet (usb) Key, or a wireless N USB Adapter, and think I have to assign a usb port ? or, find which port it/they are on ? Not much at programming,, Any help will be appreciated, Ric

Hi Ric, I have no idea about your setup, but was curious and looked up the part number you posted. Come across these 2 articles that may be of use to you:

Linux and 4G USB sticks
Huawei E3276 4G USB dongle and Linux

For wireless iwconfig would help. Also installing and using dhcpcd would be needed to auto configure net.
