Aspire One - How do you add icons to desktop and install printer?
 
Hello
This is my first question so I hope I am doing it correctly.
I just purchased an Acer Aspire One and have never seen Linux before. I want to add icons to the desktop. I have tried heaps of things but cannot get it to work.

The other part of my question, I have a Brother MFC 9440CN and for some reason I cannot get it to work on the Aspre One.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Please post which distro you are using and whether you are using the KDE or Gnome desktop, if you know.

Acer Aspire One: Linpus Linux, with highly customized desktop based on XFCE.

As for the Printer, I saw in another thread that Brother has Linux drivers on their site. But first: When you attempted to install the printer, what exactly happened?
