.asf media problems

I moved some sound files over from a windows machine over to my linux machine. They are just sound files, not anything with video. When I moved them over though, the OS keeps trying to get me to play them with a movie player, and(obviously) as a result, I get lots of nasty errors. These files play fine on the windows machine. What can I do to fix this?

well why do you want them to play in linux when u have a wonderfull machine like windows??? just joking............. i am a big fan of windows.

now this is a simple error that most come across, set the config of the sound files perfectly to the player which you want to play, alternatively you can download linux version player and unpack it and use it to play ).

even the player which you use might need some extra package or update to play mp3 or the streams which you request in.
