Are there any web browsers that run just off of X Windows?

Hey everyone

are there any web browsers that run just on X Windows? In other words, something like Firefox, Mozilla, etc that runs just straight off of X Windows with out needing a Desktop environment like Gnome or KDE or Fluxbox etc?

I'm not sure about X-windows but there are some that run in a terminal without the need for an x environment such as links2.

not for just X either.
lynx-ncurses-lss (ncurses)
elinks and links (shell)

Any of them will... all you need is an X Server and the most basic of window managers (fvwm/twm) and you can run whatever you want.

Sounds like you need a kiosk distro. Do a search for kiosk linux (in your favourite search engine) and there are dedicated distros, IIRC.
