Question archive type


hey guys i have some debian packages, *.deb, that im trying to open on ubantu, when i try it says "archive type not supported" do i need an update or something? any help will be appreciated. thanks

Both Debian and Ubuntu use DPKG(.deb files) as their default, so that should also simply work the same.

Try installing that package like this:
*open a terminal
*type: sudo dpkg -i package_name.deb

How are you trying to 'open' them. Double clicking them won't work.
