archive trouble


hi i have downloaded some ebooks which i was no able to open."archive type not supported".what must b done????it was some RAR archive if it can help.i use gutsy...

Open a terminal and type in "unrar /path/to/<file>.rar" (minus the quotes). If it doesn't work, use apt or synaptic to grab unrar.

not resolving

yeah i tried and i got the output "not resolving proxy server address"1i work through wireless networks and there is webscense on some downloads.any suggestions??

I thought that you had downloaded the files? If so, cd to the folder they reside in and then unrar them.

steps to unrar

yeah i downloaded and installed unrar package.when i tried to unrar a file it gave me multiple options.can u give me steps to do it...from terminal

unrar e <name_of_the_archive>.rar
