apt on RHL 8

Dear All,

Here's another one from a newbie.

Have installed & run apt to update an old
unsupported version of RHL 8.

apt-get update (run twice -- they say it is safer to
run it twice...)
apt-get check

Where do I now check in the system for a list what
will be updated or what is being suggested to
actualize?

Thanks in advance!

Gabriel

"apt-get upgrade" will check what you have installed against the list you downloaded with "apt-get update", and then print-out what can be upgraded, ask if you want to upgrade, and download and upgrade if you tell it yes.

"apt-get -s upgrade" *should* only simulate the above... It should only check and list what can be upgraded.
