I am introducing friends to the wonderful world of Linux & have installed Mint 18.1 xfce on a friend's computer but some of the apps, libreoffice for one appear a little to big for the screen and the close button top right can't be seen. It's a Dell monitor and the only button on it is the on/off this means there's no auto adjust or anything like that. I've tried different screen resolutions in settings but none are right. Hopefully someone will know what to do.
Thanks
I sometimes encounter this problem with I visit YouTube on Firefox. YouTube expands the Firefox window in strange and bizarre ways making it much wider than the monitor screen.
Here's a rough quick fix:
Using ALT-CLICK AND HOLD LEFT MOUSE BUTTON, move the application to one side so you can grad the edges/corner with the mouse, then resize the window to be smaller.
