Applications menu / Desktop shortcut
I have installed Thunderbird and Flock but I can only launch them from Terminal. Is it possible to add them to the applications menu or put a shortcut on the desktop?

Most likely it is, but it would help if you can tell us your distribution!!!!!!!

As irishbitte said it is most likely possible. But the way to do it varies depending on if you are using Gnome, KDE or some other window manager combination.
If you can provide these we may be able to help. |
Sorry to be vague - distro is Ubuntu. I've actually managed to do it now but thanks for to both for the replies, no doubt I'll be back with another question soon.

For ubuntu, to put a launcher on your desktop:
right click anywhere, select 'Create Launcher', and fill in the blanks. Ubuntu GNOME will automagically select the correct icon if you have one. However, unless you have installed from a .deb package, apt-get will normally put internet applications like thunderbird into the Applications->Internet menu? |
