Application location
 

I feel like an idiot throwing this question out... but if you know and have time, please help me...

i download an application like GAIM... I unload the thing, and so... what is the default location for installing these applications? any application really? what would be even more useful is just telling me how to find out...

On a side note... Suse is AWEsome! seriously... this is great... but I need to find the ins and outs, or, rather, how to find the ins and outs.

I don't use SuSE myself, but try this:

I think YaST should make it easier than typing all those commands, but I'm a Synaptic Package Manager person myself.
