application disappear when I minimise them

I am using fedora 10.

I am using gnome.

I have arranged my desktop so that I have a single panel at the button. I have added main menu, firefox icon, and the 4 little desktops, I also have the clock and network etc.

My problem is when I am view any application, i.e, terminal, firefox, openoffice. And I click the minimise button. The application will disappear and I can't get it back until I run another one. I thought the panel will show all the open applications and you can just click on them like you can with windows.

I have a screen shot of my desktop.

Many thanks for any advice,

You need to add the Windows List applet to your panel.
