Almost have my first Linux installation, but...

My installation of Red Hat Linux, version 9, hangs and stops dead in its tracks at the following point while booting up the kernel:

apm: BIOS version 1.2 flags 0x03 (Driver version 1.16)

Does anybody have any idea how I can get by this snag?

Some background: This is a new install of Linux alongside Windows 2000 on a new hard drive and I'm using GRUB as my boot-loader. I installed GRUB on the first sector of the /boot partition, copied the linux.bin file to my C:\ drive, and added "c:\linux.bin='Linux'" to the boot.ini file. Everything seems to be working fine with GRUB.

I did update my BIOS somewhere along the way to version 9 for the Dell Dimension 4100, don't know if this is relevant.

This would be my first ever install of Linux, heck I've never even seen Linux, so I'm hoping someone can help me out here. Thanks!
