Aplications(firefox,gaim etc) won't start upon clicking.(Gnome)

Good Day,

Distro: opensuse 10.3
Gnome

After I do
#modprobe ndiswrapper
I can't start any applications, not even terminal.
Not with right clicking on the screen, not by clicking on panel.

If I reboot computer and start any thing it would start, but again when I do
#modprobe ndiswrapper
nothing would starts any more.
Applications what are already running keep running.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Never mind.
Fixed.
I started afet I installed notes on my comp.
I reinstalled it, and now no more problem.

Thanks.

I have same problem again.

Please read post one.

Found the solution to this problem In case some one else has similar issue.

Start computer in runleavel 3 //modify /etc/inittab --->default run level 3 instead of 5

Do
#insmod ndiswrapper
then go to Gnome
#gdm
Off course all could be done with a few line script.

Thanks.

Man,you made me laugh. :D

knockout_artist 03-31-2008 02:42 PM

And why is that?

alan_ri 03-31-2008 03:09 PM

It's just that you said thanks few times and you had nobody to thank to,because you were the only person who started the thread, asked a few questions and answered them. And your english isn't the best, which also affected my impression. No hard feelings.;)

knockout_artist 03-31-2008 03:18 PM

First part is funny.
Second part is not that amusing. You don't say things to ppl and tell them no hard feeling.
Its like me telling you. you are a ugly SOB + "no hard feeling"
Does that make feel any better? I guess not.

alan_ri 03-31-2008 04:02 PM

I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings,it wasn't my intention(that's what I was trying to say with "no hard feelings").Anyway,I just wanted to let you know that I found something funny in your posts(saying thanks to nobody),so that you don't make the same mistake again.

knockout_artist 03-31-2008 05:00 PM

I don't know man , the way I see it, 90 ppl(so far) looked at this page.
I really am thank full to them.
I mean I couldn't do it any where else, asking technicians to look at my problem for me.

Only person click on the page in order to look/resolve the issue could see me saying thanks.

So again.
Thank you.

That was VERY thoughtful of you to come back and post the fix even though you received no assistance. Thank YOU for helping to make LQ the best it can be for future users!

Cheers
