Question Apache 2 Removal

I can't find how to remove apache from anything other than a debian-based distro...

I am running Mandriva 2006 free. I did a stupid and set the directories very very poorly. I tried 'make uninstall' in the /var/www/apache2 directory (and many sub-dirs) but nothing. it just says:

"make: *** No Rule to Make Target 'uninstall'. Stop."

This doesn't help me. I'm about to reinstall the OS but I shouldnt have to. plus, id rather learn it for the sake of learning the os. thanks, any help is much appreciated.

How was it installed.. ? I would think you would use the urpmi tool to remoe it..

urpme apache2

For each distro check what package management utility they use, and check the docs..

Again uncompress your source tarball in a directory and then use this command in that directory :

make uninstall
You may need to run ./configure first to create a Makefile. So if you face any problem, first run './configure' in that directory and then run 'make uninstall'
