Apache 2.4 on ubuntu 12.4
Hey everyone,
I have successfully configured apache 2.4 on sabayon linux. I recently switched to ubuntu. I have a problem to configure it here. After installing using sequence of conventional commands, I can see the apache executables in /usr/local/apache2. They are all present!. But if i run, for instance httpd -d, I get this

No command 'httpd' found, did you mean:
Command 'xttpd' from package 'xtide' (universe)
httpd: command not found

Kindly help. Thanks...

because httpd doesn't exist. it's apache2. For example to start the web server, in your case you would do

apache2ctl start

/etc/rc.d/init.d/apache2 start
instead of

httpd start

/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd start
so if you want to do httpd -d
do apache2 -d
