Anyone speak minetest...specifically how to add mods after you download sort and extract?

Needless to say, this newbie is lost stumped or not tramslating something in the instructions if found for my troubles. Bella.os is quit nice and prepacked with almost more than i really needed, somethings im still trying to figure out if they are the same as other things im seeing named in reference pages, none the less this minetest is passyfing for the kid until i figure out the rest of setting up her mx with some of her google play abilities(i'm sure that will come with a bunch of confusion and ?? to come back with). I have thus far ubtained minetest 0.4.14 on Bella and 0.4.10 on the other. i am having trouble getting the 2 firefoxs to sync so i also ended up finding different mods and enableing them successfully but i cant get the extras i've download on bella. So how do i get these mods to run in my system? Also need a little insight on exactly how to get game to stay lit when either of the versions run it's light for a few minutes then suddenly dark for 15 and cant see the land to play(perhaps there is a mod fpr this ,too. Any help would be greatly appreaciated. As of now i have the .zip in archives and extracted all to the .minetest file. Is there a magic sudo apt-get for this?

You can find all you need in the Minetest Wiki

It does have a day/night cycle so it does go dark unless you have torches. The wiki has a lot of great help. There is also a cool tutorial series here on YouTube
