Anyone know why 'lsusb' doesn't list anything?

Hmmm ... because no usbdevice is connected? No chipset recognised
by the kernel? Modules forcefully unloaded? Gosh ... so many options.

Puppy lives on a USB memory stick and I have a USB Novatel U998 modem attached as well. I was trying to get the modem to work when I noticed that 'lsusb' did not list anything.

Rob,

Try to switch On the attached modem at boot up so that it is certain that the kernel synced it at query time.

There are times that you must be logged as "root" to obtain full querying response. So be root, then issue this--

root@host-# /sbin/lsusb -v

I assume this should work.

What does 'lspci -v' give when issued?
