I reinstalled redhat fc1 last nite and partitioned it with 10gb of space and left the rest free (64gb). I plan to boot from my xp cd and partition the free space with ntfs and install windows on it. Any suggestions/tips or anything i should know?

Windows will overwrite the MBR with its own bootloader. Before you do that mke a boot floppy and make sure that you can use it to boot into Fedora before you let Windows clobber the MBR.

After you install Windows boot into Fedora and reinstall the bootloader. If you are using lilo then the install command is:
lilo
If you are using grub then the install command is:
grub-install

could i boot from the fc1 install cd?

i took my floppy out because i dont use it anymore.

also any detailed instructions on how to reinstall bootloader?

im not at home right not im sure i could figure it out though.

The only thing to add to the above thread is that you will have to edit /boot/grub/grub.conf to add Windows to the grub menu.
