Well there's a few:

Clamav

Avast.

I would imagine Clamav is available Suse's package manager,Yast?.
The others can be downloaded from the internet

You generally don't need antivirus software when dealing with other GNU/Linux systems. If however you are exchanging files with winblows (users) then clamav is free, opensource and available.

You can run it it from a shell,i do something like:

Code:
freshclam
To make sure the virus database is up to date, then to scan the entire system:

Code:
clamscan -r /
Here's a link to the Clamav doc's section:

http://www.clamav.net/doc/latest/

I find the pdf manual quite useful.
You can also use a gui front end for Clamav, have a search with your package manager for clamtk.

As regard to logs have a look in /var/log

You can integrate clamav in fetchmail with procmail, and scan your mails

Since we're pushing AV: BitDefender offers a free version for Linux home users also. Detection results might even be better but by all means do test for yourself...
