YUM (Yellowdog Updater Modified)

What yum is the package management tool for CentOS, Fedora, and RHat Linux.

Now what "# yum update" does it updates your system with the latest updates that your distro has release.

What is your fedora 11 84_64 or i386?

You can't upgrade in-situ; you need to backup any personal data and install F11 from scratch.
NB: Fedora versions only get update support for 13 mths. You may want a long term (5-7 yrs) distro like Centos (free version of RHEL).

Upgrade can only be done to immediate release version. You can not skip versions for upgrade. To go from F8 to F11 you will need a clean install. F8 can be upgraded to F9 and F9 to F10 and F10 to F11.

Hi,
I'm not sure how "newbie" you are, so don't get upset if I ask if you actually installed all those downloads?

greetings, guyapi

To watch youtube videos you need to install flashplayer into firefox. You can download the .rpm file from adobe.com. Or you can just get the tar.gz source file. Extract it and put it in /usr/lib/firefox/pluggins or /usr/lib/mozzilla/plugins
