An Apology:

colucix,

I didn't take the time to actually think through what it is you do here; I'm realizing that with so many postings, sometimes you have to perform triage.
I took offense when you closed my thread, questioning publicly my veracity. A public forum may not have been the place to air my grievance or question my honor; Do you agree?

So I'm going to man up here and apologize to your office. As a moderator you have large responsibilities and I should respect that.

I was going to send this privately - but I had insulted you in public, so I felt an public apology necessary.

Thomas Mears

Hello Thomas,

I was surprised by your overreaction to the closure of your thread and I am equally surprised by this request for your apology. Perhaps my mistake was that I used a peremptory tone to close the thread, but - believe me - it was not my intention to accuse you of any wicked-ness. I just tried to do my duty to remind the rules and the philosophy of LinuxQuestions.

I'm glad you thought about the whole thing and decided to submit this new thread to clarify the situation. I feel no rancour towards you. Apology accepted.

Enjoy LinuxQuestions! :)

Regards,
Alex

Wow, this is rare..... Reading a post like this actually makes me happy to know that there ARE some open-minded people within the LQ environment ;)

Anyways, glad to see everything going in a good direction. May you learn your lesson, vaago, and move on. I've done something similar in the past, but it was over frustration over another user, and I received an infraction. Honestly, people read it the wrong way, and took it the wrong way. That's why I try my hardest not to sound too defensive anymore.

Cheers,

Josh

It is great to see someone apologize if he/she feel he said something wrong. That's being a man/woman.

_vaago, LQ does have a blog section for members, maybe it's a place to post your vents/rage.

Just a thought.

Takes a big man to admit a fault.

I however, am not that big. :)

Maybe I should/shouldn't have posted/not posted this apology/not an apology in the same forum that I vented/didn't vent at colucax/not colusix, possibly he/she/it would not have seen my/your/that/it post in the lounge/bar/grill.

Just because I showed my weak and girly side to a moderator does not mean I'm going to take you kicking sand.

I'm known as an anti-social, I'm trying to reform - think of it as a twelve step.

I'm pretty much an anti-social too, but I deal with it. I'm also borderline psychopath.... And I deal with it ;)
