aMule installation

I downloaded the package "amule-2.1.3-3plf2007.0.i586.rpm".

I can't find a way of successfully install the package mentioned.

1. I try via Mandriva Control Center

"amule" or "aMule" don't appear in the available Mandriva 2007 packages.

2. I try via "urpmi"

"urpmi" reports a list of dependencies and each one of these has another dependencies list

3. I try via Mandriva graphic package installer

Same as item 2 above.

I would like to understand the utility of urpmi and similar tools(yum in Fedora) if they don't solve the dependencies. I install "urpmi" following the steps suggested in the site I found searching "easy urpmi"in Google.

Should someone give me some help to solve this trouble? And if possible, some explanation about how to avoid this kind of trouble, please?

(I won't compile aMule. I will have dozens of similar troubles trying to make C compiler run ok)

I'm running Mandriva 2007 official in an Athlon 64 bits 3 GHz, 2 GB of core memory and a partition of 90 GB of disk. There are 82 GB free in the linux partition.

What you need to do is go to easyurpmi and setup the various main, contrib, plf and updates repos. After that switch to root in a terminal and do
Code:

urpmi amule

Surprise! It ran ok!

All complex formulas I try don't solve. Your simple suggestion ran OK mr. Reddazz.

My "urpmi" was already configured. I only submit the line command you suggest and bingo!

Thank you very much!

Ricardo
