AMD K2 350... to old?

Hi all,

Is an AMD K2 350 too old to install Fedora Core 2 on?

I've run into problems but before I discuss them I need this question answered.

No, it's not too old -- I've run Linux on machines much slower than that. Gnome and KDE aren't going to be very fast, however, and you probably don't even want to install them unless you have >=128 MB of RAM.

In addition to what btmiller said I'd suggest trying a distro
that has slimmer defaults, for a newbie it may be a bit of
a challenge to strip any of the Redhat based systems down
to a bearable amount of services ;)

Thanks for the thoughts. What distro would you recommend for a newbie?

Fedora 2 was suggested to me.
