Question Alternative for Turbo C

I am doing a project in which i have to work on turbo c to use graphics ( <graphics.h> <conio.h> etc)
Is there any alternative to turbo c in ubuntu 8.10 or fedora 10 where i can use those headers ?

There is header file ncurses.h.

Also have a look at libpng library.
