ALSA sampling clock configuration

I am using ALSA for my sound application. Is it possible to configure the clock (eg. clock dividing for sampling) used for sampling from user space. If so how can I do it?

Hi:

I could be wrong but I think that configuring the clock is limited to the preferences that are in the drop down menu for the clock.

i think op means a different sort of clock, maybe this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sample_clock

i know little about these things.

you can start by opening alsamixer in your terminal, look through the options, maybe press F2 to look at some files.
it most certainly won't end there, and extensive research into setting up alsa is the next step.
maybe continue here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Alsa

The alsa system sampling rates are set by the application used to handle the sound file, and are usually set to the sample rate of the file. If the codec used to play the file can use different sampling rates, and if the application allows changing the rate by a configuration option, that's the easy way to adjust it. But there are other ways: https://unix.stackexchange.com/quest...g-rate-in-alsa
