I get no sound from my Cirrus Logic onboard sound. CS4236?
I tried loading the stable version of Alsa. I follow the steps, but get an error during the config - 'MAKEFILE.CONF' not found.
Shouldn't this sound card be supported by the Kernel? When I boot, it attempts to load a module for CS4610, but errors out of that. (I can get the specifics of the error later)....
You are probably getting the error because you didn't install the developers package when you installed Mandrake (the default is to not install). Install that and the source code and try the instructions again--they should work then.
